I am so excited to share with you guys my latest free crochet pattern, the Girl Boss crochet pouch! The perfect accessory to let them know that you’re a boss. But not just a regular boss, a GIRL BOSS, which makes it 10 times better right?
Since I was a little girl, I’ve watched my mother do what she loves to do on her own terms. She sets her own hours, her own prices, and makes her own rules, i mean she basically marches to the beat of her own drum. She is a boss in every aspect of the word (I mean….she is my mom after all). Watching her has inspired me to set out on my own journey to BOSS-dom.As many of you may already know, this journey is a journey indeed. It’s not the easiest ride, but I am a believer in positive thinking and speaking things into existence. Positive affirmations can be used to basically train your mind to feel differently. So when I set out to create this pouch, I knew I wanted it to say something that brought about encouraging thoughts.
This crochet pouch was created for those who are on a journey like me, or for those who are already there and just need a reminder. You are worthy and deserving of great things, and never let anyone tell you differently!
So here’s to the GIRL BOSSES, those who are and those who aspire to be!
For this project, I used “I Love This Cotton!” yarn by Hobby Lobby Stores. It is 100% cotton and super soft, which is why I use it time and time again, but any 100% cotton yarn will do.
If you’ve never tried your hand at tapestry crochet, that’s completely fine! This project is pretty simple once you get the hang of a few basic things, then you’ll be on your way to becoming an old pro at this tapestry crochet thing. There are no difficult stitches to learn, so don’t you worry.
The only stitch that will be used for this pouch is the modified single crochet stitch. Modified single crochet is just a fancy way of telling you insert your hook into the back loop only, and to yarn under instead of over. If you need more help with that stitch, you can click here.
So let’s jump into it…
