It is finally fall! Time for cooler weather, pumpkin spice eeeeverything, candy, and of course Halloween movies! Speaking of movies, I decided that I wanted my holiday decorations to have a theme this year, and what better theme than the best Halloween movie of all time, Hocus Pocus! I mean come on, who doesn’t love that movie right? I’ve watched Hocus Pocus every Halloween season since I was a kid, and I don’t see the tradition stopping anytime soon.
The Inspiration
I have about a billion pillows all over my house, so I think it’s safe to say that they’re a huge part of my decor. I make a crochet pillow for pretty much everything, check out the Gangsta Wrapper crochet pillow, and the Hustle Hard crochet pillow set. Since changing these pillows out makes my home look and feel different, I decided to start my holiday decorating with this Hocus Pocus crochet pillow. I love that each of the Sanderson sisters have their own personality that also comes with their own unique hairstyles, so I decided to go with silhouettes of their hair as the design. And for those people who have been depriving themselves all their lives by not seeing the movie, I added the movie title to the design as well. :).
The Hocus Pocus crochet pillow is about 22 inches wide and 12 inches tall, so it’s large enough to really stand out. It is made with 4 different colors of worsted weight yarn. I decided to stick with all solid colors, but it would be fun to experiment with some variegated yarns maybe? Hmm.
Well that’s enough talking…let’s get to it
