Hello there!
Thank you for your interest in being a crochet pattern tester for Designs by Key crochet and handmade. I am always in need of testers for my new crochet designs, and I’m looking for your help. I need crochet pattern testers of all skill levels from beginner to advanced, all are welcome to apply. I put many hours and love into each and every pattern I write, and I want to do everything I can to be sure that each design is as close to perfect as possible before I put it out there for the world to see.
Why become a crochet pattern tester?
There are many reasons why you should apply to be a pattern tester. Being a pattern tester is a great way to broaden your skill set and gain experience. For me, becoming a pattern tester gave me the knowledge and confidence to start designing my own patterns. If you take the time to study the techniques you can learn new things that will help you in future projects!
Okay, I’m in! How does this work?
Now that you’ve made up your mind, it’s time to fill out the application below. Once you submit your application, you’ll be notified next time there’s a new design available for testing. I’ll send you an e-mail that will contain all the details of the new pattern, including time frame and requirements. Not all who apply will be chosen to test every pattern, but don’t worry, there will be plenty of patterns to test.
What will be expected of me?
Pattern testing is a huge responsibility and shouldn’t be entered into lightly. Designers rely on pattern testers to complete a project and provide valuable feedback so that the pattern being tested will be perfect for others. Here’s what will be looked for….
- You must have an active public Instagram account that is dedicated to crochet.
- You must be able to complete a crochet project within a given time frame (For most projects, it’s 6 weeks).
- You must be able to take photos of the finished project on a model.
- You must be able to communicate with the designer as well as other testers via IG chat.
- You must be able to find errors and provide feedback.
